Emirates conducts COVID-19 test for its passengers

The airline has become the first to screen passengers for COVID-19 before boarding. This initiative began today for the first time on a Dubai-Tunis flight. During the process, travelers underwent a blood sample at the check-in area of Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport. After 10 minutes, the test results were ready.

According to Emirates Chief Operating Officer Adel Al Redha, the protocol has been resolved without any problems. According to the executive, the airline is working to expand the testing capability to other flights with the aim of providing immediate results for passengers traveling to countries requiring COVID-19 test certificates.

In addition, prior to the test, the airline has changed the check-in protocol by adapting the distancing measures between people. To this end, protective barriers have been placed at the check-in counters and measures have been taken to ensure that all airport employees are provided with masks, gloves and disinfectant gel. Passengers must wear masks before boarding and during the flight.

Meanwhile, Emirates does not accept carry-on baggage at this time, except for laptops, handbags or baby items.
