New technology to check passenger health

Etihad Airways is launching new technology at Abu Dhabi airport at the end of April to check the health status of travelers before they board the plane.

The company's objective is to convey greater security and confidence to travelers to return to travel, after commercial flights were suspended at the end of last month.

The new technology is being designed in collaboration with Elenium Automation, which will begin testing later this month and during May with volunteers and frequent users of the company.

This technology will be located in various areas such as the automatic service counters and check-in machines, which will check the temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate of users. In the event that a passenger presents any anomaly, the staff will be alerted.
