Sanitary control for passengers arriving in Spain

Travelers arriving in Spain will have to pass a triple sanitary control, either at airports or ports, and fill out a document stating whether they have passed the coronavirus and where to locate them, a temperature control and a visual inspection.

As of June 21, EU citizens are no longer required to be quarantined upon arrival. Therefore, controls will be carried out by foreign health personnel comprising some 540 professionals. In addition, about 100 staff have been reinforced. The authorities had already admitted that this would be insufficient.

The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, held a press conference at the Moncloa Palace, in which he emphasized that there will be a sufficient number of operators to "subject each and every traveler" to these three primary controls.

The minister spoke about the first control, a form to collect information about the passenger and his contact with the coronavirus, the data for his location and information "on whether or not he has gone through the epidemic and in what conditions".

In addition, there will be two additional controls, temperature and visual. If one of these three primary controls is not passed, the traveler will be examined by a doctor, according to the Spanish Health Minister.
