Spain opens to international tourism as of July

The Spanish government has taken the decision to open the borders to international tourism as of July 1 and to eliminate the quarantine measure for foreign visitors arriving in our country from then on.

The decision was taken yesterday, Monday, after an inter-ministerial commission with the objective of seeking the reactivation of the tourism sector, both nationally and internationally.

Despite the elimination of the quarantine measure, it will be decided in the coming weeks whether to establish any type of security measures or restrictions depending on the origin of the visitors and the pandemic situation in the different countries.
It remains to be seen whether the European Commission's proposal for the so-called "health corridors" will be accepted by all countries or whether other types of protocols and agreements will be established between the different EU member states.
